Subject: TeXmacs on Mac OSX
I succeeded to compile and run TeXmacs-1.0 on Mac OSX with XFree86,
tetex and guile-1.4 installed by Fink. My compiling experiences are
submitted to the Fink package submit tracker at
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?group_id=17203&atid=414256
You can download the fink package description from there.
Once it has made its way through the Fink acceptance procedure, it will
be simple to install with Fink: "fink install texmacs".
Due to the HFS+ filesystem, there were two case-insensitivity issues to
overcome:
1. I had to put a
.PHONY: SCRIPTS
target into /misc/Makefile, so that the misc/scripts directory is not
(mis)taken as a target, and
2. I took the clue from Marciano Siniscalchi's Cygwin port to rename the
Init.scm file to tmInit.scm. Otherwise texmacs would not start, but give
an error message (?, from memory)
Error: unbound variable exec-file
Enjoy.
