[Announce] Transformation RFC version 1

I am currently working on a document transformation system for TeXmacs.

The long term goal (6 months) of this project is to include support for a
reasonable subset of XSLT in TeXmacs, allowing WYSIWYG edition of
arbitrary XML documents. The shorter term goal is to factor out the
implementation of the style language from the typesetter, and to extend the
usefulness of the style system.

I just released the first public draft of my analysis and implementation
documentation for that project. You can download it at:

http://www.davidallouche.org/texmacs/dev/transformations-RFC-1.tar.gz

This document is an informal Request For Comments. That means it is a working
draft, but I think it has grown enough to give a not so bad overview of what
I know, understand and intend to do. I publish it in the hope of getting
feedback to improve the design before making important implementation
decisions.

If you are interested in this development of TeXmacs, and think you can
provide useful advice, experience, or anything, please post your comments on
address@hidden. Further releases of that document will be announced on
the address@hidden mailing list.

You can subscribe at address@hidden on the following web page:

Thanks for your help in improving TeXmacs.
