One sometimes should not try to understand...
In this case, I suspect that you installed a previous bugged version,
just after our migration to the new keyboard interface,
and that some system data in this bugged version introduced
a bug in the new version as well.
So, with these kind of problems, it is in general a good strategy to
backup your .TeXmacs directory and relaunch TeXmacs.
