Just updated to the latest Texmacs release from Fink.
Image problems seem to have disappeared, as well as stack limits while loading online docs.

You mean the problem with ghostscript-8 has disappeared for you?
Yes, I've suppressed the xterm -e texmacs, and launch directly with texmacs -g 800x600+10+10 as I used to do under WindowMaker. When I insert postscript images, the postscripts loads as they never have been, i.e. correctly, I can even change the size in the dialog (it's the first time I can do it).

Though I should admit that the help (for example first file in Help menu) does not load (still blocked as before), seems to affect the images located in /sw/share/TeXmacs-2.0.1.9/misc.

After more investigation works only when only ghostscript is called, does not work when pnmtops, pdftops, etc... is called.

The first files I've tested were derivated from SIAG and GRACE and those ones work directly when inserting them in texmacs, be them saved as pdf or ps files, as they are only called with ghostscript. Files produce as screenshots under MacOSX do not work, because after the call to ghostscrip, there is a call to pnmops, pdftops, etc.. which blocks.

Still remains the same problem while trying to actualize the doc:
I found the culprit. I should activate FTP access in Sharing preferences pane, otherwise with or without passive ftp, with wget-ssl or wget, it does not work. But with FTP acces activated, it works with passive ftp or not, with wget or wget-ssl. I maybe worth to note it, as ftp access is not enable by default in Sharing preferences pane.
