I've noted something similar; at times, trying to insert an image, do 
...insert an image-> then i browse for an image, and no matter which image i 
select, i have "image /home/ ... /image.jpg not found". This behaviour seems 
to be persistent to save and exit; the only way out is to start a new 
document from scratch

btw, this is with 1.0.1.21
