Yes. Nevertheless, in this case, one may argue about the TeX convention of
automatically removing the space around \cdot. Indeed, from a semantic
point of view, it may not be clear how to parse strings like "(\cdot)",
or, similarly "+,-,\times,/". One might therefore argue that the user
should explicitly identify \cdot, +, -, etc. as being operators in
this case, using the A-O shortcut. I will examine this issue in further
detail later on.
