Hi everyone,

for a couple of years now I'm using Texmacs for most of my writing work and I
think it's a great tool...

But there are some issues that keep bothering so I decided to ask whether I
am too stupid to find the obvious solution or there is none...

So here they come:

1. As I'm German, I usually write a date like this "16. Juni 2005". Please
note the dot. When formatting such a date <date|%d. %B %Y>, the space after
the dot gets too large. I whould use a nbsp, but in the date macro it doesn't
work ("<error|bad date>"). Is there any possibility to get the space after
the dot right?

2. In recent Texmacs versions (I'm using 1.0.5.1), the Format -> Size menu
doesn't contain relative font sizes any more, but instead absolute ones (5 -
24 pt instead of Tiny - Really huge). This even contradicts the documentation
on font-size (env-font.en.tm). Is there a reason for dropping the relative
stuff in favor of using absolute values?

3. Now for the fancy stuff ;-). Any hints are welcome: Very common typing
errors of mine concern uppercase letters at the beginning of words (e.g.
"GErman" instead of "German" or "german" instead of "German"). One reason
they are annoying for me is that in German texts there are much more words
beginning with uppercase letters (e.g. all nouns) than in most other
languages. So my question is: Is there any possibility to implement some kind
of auto correction turning GErman to German? Or even better, to implement a
keyboard shortcut that, when executed, does this kind of replacement or
switches the first letter's case (of the word the cursor is in)?

As I type very fast, I usually get aware of such a mistyping only after I
typed the entire word and due to the lack of such an autocorrection I use to
delete the whole word and write it again...

I suppose one has to do scheme programming and possess a profound knowledge
of the Texmacs internals to implement such features and as I possess neither,
any kind of hint (or implementation ;-)) whould be highly appreciated. It
whould help, too, if you tell me it's impossible ;-).

Greetings from Germany,

Benno.
