I agree with Javier. Type 1 fonts are really necessary!

Speed is always good, specially when you're using a not so new PC (like me).
But, I *need* good looking pdfs. I give many pdf'd TeXmacs documents to my
students and some of them are really ugly and difficult to read on screen.
