Basically, all programming languages are the same : they allow
For an example of drawings graphics using
a program, you can have a look at the end of my tutorial :

http://www.ags.uni-sb.de/~henri/texmacs/ (for some other material)
The Apendix B example is amazing. But, Scheme programming is far out of my
knowledge :-( Anyway it shows the potential of the graphics mode.
you to build and modify datastructures, and to write functions
that do loops. There is no more than that in my example. The
problem is that each programming language has its own syntactic
way of doing these things, but it is definitely not the important
point.
So as soon as you know --programming-- (namely, as soon as you
have some experience of designing datastructures & algorithms),
it doesn't really matter if it is in Scheme or in something
else (but of course, you cannot do it without some practice
in the programming language you need to use, and this costs
some time to learn it...).
