- Subject: revtex4: Exporting LaTeX in submittable format?
- Date: Fri, 11 Nov 2005 16:41:46 +0100
Hi there,
the various journals of the APS (American Physical Society) expect
submissions in LaTeX using a special style "revtex4" (contained in the
regular LaTeX distribution). The concept is very similar to that of
AMSart which is even contained in TeXmacs.
My hope was that a file written with the AMSart-style in TeXmacs would
export to a LaTeX file that is already in the correct format for direct
submission.
However, I find that the exported LaTeX only looks correct but does not
use any of the internal markup that AMSart offers. If I use the AMSart
style in TeXmacs, I may get output that looks similar to that LaTeX
style, but it cannot be used directly for submission.
Is this just a bug that can easily be fixed? Does it need just a bit of
cleanup? Or does it need some fundamental work?
What I want to say: is it possible for a style to specify in which way
certain elements should be exported to LaTeX, p.e. can I specify that
the title should not only look like a title but that it should actually
use the \title tag provided by the LaTeX class?
I don't know whether I would manage to fix the AMSart style in that way,
but if AMSart were working correctly, I think I should manage to use it
as a template to do the same thing with the revtex4 style.
I believe this would be one killer feature for TeXmacs: being able to
produce high-quality LaTeX directly useable for journal submission...
Greetings,
Norbert
