I agree. I have this in mind since a while, but never found time for it.
Notice that an input may be quickly selected using C-space several times.

This will not be for the near future, since this would interact
very badly with the page breaking mechanism. On the other hand,
the graphical mode *should* provide a facility to write texts
in columns of a given width (Henri: please put this as an item
on the list for version 2).
