HI David,

I've been using TeXmacs to write more and more of the materials for my
courses, since this is more convenient than writing some of them with
something else and then converting the file when I decide I want to
add an equation or something else I'd rather do in TeXmacs.

I also put most of these materials on our web site, and try to keep
the web site HTML valid according to the W3C HTML validator at w3c.org.

Sadly, the HTML generated by "export HTML" in TeXmacs 1.0.5 on MacOS X
is not getting past this validator. For example the result of
   http://www.cs.haverford.edu/courses/cmsc350/Syllabus.html

is 12 errors as can be seen at

   http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cs.haverford.edu%2Fcourses%2Fcmsc350%2FSyllabus.html

I have come to expect this sort of thing from most wysiwyg HTML
editors and HTML exports from most word processors, but I had hoped
for better luck with TeXmacs

Is there some other validator that I should be using? Has there beenany serious effort at validation of TeXmacs-exported HTML? Or shouldI go back to writing web sites with Amaya (which I should also check)and everything else with TeXmacs?

Well, in this moment i don´t know some method to validate the TeXmacs html export from TeXmacs itself, but you can use Tidy:

http://tidy.sourceforge.net

and

http://www.w3.org/People/Raggett/tidy/

Tidy run under GNU/Linux, Windows, MacOS X/Darwin, etc and is and
open source proyect. Tidy is a great html formater with the w3c rules.
