The erect "H" that you see is not a roman "H" but a greek letter that
incidentally looks like an erect "H". This explains, why F5 does not
give you what you are looking for.
What I'm usually using is the latex-command "\mathrm". To type this in
TeXmacs, do
*<backslash>
* type "mathrm"
*<enter>
*type whatever text you want upright
*<enter> to activate
