In fact, I would have to allow for multi-column text inside table cells,
but this has not been implemented yet. Another solution is to not use
the "figure" environment and insert the caption "manually" (or hack
the figure environment so that it accepts multi-paragraph figures/captions);
you may then select 2-column mode for your text (figure).
