This should read "on MacOSX 10.2 you will in either case get an older version". On a newer MacOSX, you also get a newer version of texmacs, of course. On 10.3, you get 1.0.5 as binary and 1.0.6 from a source install, and on 10.4 you currently get 1.0.6 and 1.0.6.6, respectively.
