This is somewhat off the previous topic, but I am about to start
working on a document in which I'll need to make a somewhat unusual
use of color for text. Specifically, in some cases I'll need to have a
single letter with two colors (e.g., one that is half pale blue and
half orange); this may need to be a very narrow letter such as "i", so
I may have to partition the letter vertically (e.g., top half blue and
bottom half orange) to make it visually evident (I'll also be using a
large font, of course).
I have been assuming this is not straightforward in TeXmacs and
resigning myself to writing the text in something like GIMP; can
anyone tell me (a) if this is possible in TeXmacs, or (b) if there is
any system in which it is not difficult? If it is possible in TeXmacs,
I can at least hide the complicated part by putting the few
multi-color letters I'll need into a macro.
Thanks,
Dave Wonnacott

I don't think it's conter intuitive because you are changing the
foreground
colour of your document. If you want to change the color of a selected
text
you should do: Format -> Color -> Red
