Looks better if you insert the figures as floating figures or floating
tables. Insert -> Page insertions -> Floating Figure

Hi,
This problem appear now and then and I have no idea when it will appear.
The page break algorithm seems to be inclined to glue a large figure and
the text around it together, leaving large portion of the first page
blank. Any ideas? I have attached the sample source file and PDF result.
