Segmentation fault on search

I am using

ii texmacs 1:1.0.6.10-1ubuntu1
ii texmacs-common 1:1.0.6.10-1ubuntu1
ii texmacs-extra-fonts 0.2

on a Ubuntu gutsy install on a laptop. When going to the
Help->Search->Documentation I get

bob@riemann:~$ texmacs
TeXmacs] With linked TrueType support
<unnamed port>: In procedure scm_lreadr in expression (primitive-load
name):
<unnamed port>: /usr/share/texmacs/TeXmacs/progs/doc/docgrep.scm:60:56:
illegal character in escape sequence: #\`

in the terminal window from which I started texmacs and nothing in the
texmacs document. When I do another Help->Search->Documentation I get

Segmentation fault (core dumped)

in the terminal window and, of course, texmacs dissappears.

Any suggestions?

Bob
