When I run TeXmacs a few files are updated:
~/.TeXmacs/system/tmp
~/.TeXmacs/system/setup.scm
~/.TeXmacs/system/interactive.scm
and preferences.scm is still there if I exit, run, exit, run, etc.,
even if I reboot, _if I do not load any files_.
But if I run TeXmacs and then open a document -- not a simple one,
such as:
http://www.mclink.it/personal/MC1166/TeXmacs/test.tm
but, f.i.:
http://www.mclink.it/personal/MC1166/TeXmacs/integrali.tm
-- then exit, when I run TeXmacs again preferences.scm has vanished.
I mean:
a) run: from the shell or from KDE menu;
b) open: from command line or by F2 -- a file "f2pspost.dvi (1 page,
860 bytes)" is created (what and where is it?);
c) exit: exit TeXmacs without any changes;
d) run again: loading a document or not.
HTH
