TeXmacs for which the output has extra blue angle brackets that should
not be there. They don't occur if maxima is run in a terminal session
and I have not seen the like before in TeXmacs. Is this a bug in
TeXmacs?
You can always investigate what maxima sends to TeXmacs. Just compile the pnambic plugin (/usr/share/TeXmacs/examples/plugins/pnambic/, see readme.tm) and do
/usr/libexec/TeXmacs/bin/tm_maxima <your_version> <your_lisp> \
| ./~TeXmacs/plugins/pnambic/bin/p_out
Then send your equation to maxima as usual, and watch what maxima sends back. If it sends something funny, you will see.
