I think my previous reply didn't make it. Here it is again.....
To make the alt key work on my Mac, I have a file called ~/.Xmodmap
containing the following:
clear Mod1
clear Mod2
keycode 63 = Mode_switch
keycode 66 = Meta_L
add Mod1 = Meta_L
add Mod2 = Mode_switch
then, if you call:
xmodmap ~/.Xmodmap
(I`m sure there is some way to have that done automatically when X11
starts...), alt keys work again on TeXmacs.
