Hi,

it has been a long time since i last posted a message.

In a book style document, with the package number-europe added and a chapter title, when i add a section (Alt-1), the numbering is

1.1 First section title of frist chapter

Then with a defintion i get

Definition 1.1

Example 1.1

Definition 1.2

After that, i insert a table of contents at the beginning of the document and all the numbering changes. Here is what i get :

1 First section title of frist chapter

Then with a defintion i get

Definition 1

Example 1

Definition 2

Is it a normal result ?  Note that i do prefer the last numbering (that i find lighter). Is it possible ti get such a nubering without having to insert a T.O.C. ?

Thank yo very to all of you

Marc
