hi everyone

i have installed ubuntu under virtualbox

i have installed texmacs on it ("banque de logiciels ubuntu", champ de recherche, texmacs, installation en deux secondes)

now i want to install professor in order to use it from texmacs

i want to make a proper installation, i want to have a clean system that works well

i have found on my hard drive the following insturcitons

 On décompresser l’archive professor.zip. 
 On obtient un répertoire professor/ à placer dans sontexmf/tex/latex/. 
 On place les fichiers mp dans son texmf/metapost/. 
 On lance texhash.

i think this comes from the website http://mathsp.tuxfamily.org/spip.php?article181

i am a beginner, i dont know if i have xcas or not

i still have the folder "professor" with 2 subfolders "bin" and "prog"

...
