Hi Davide:

I try it but apt-get answer in both forms: "Can't find source for texmacs", I remember that I do it, but now appear this message :(. Consequent whit this I download the sources from texmacs.org for version 1.07.7 I make ./configure, make and make install, all just fine but I write texmacs on terminal and appear:
TeXmacs] With linked TrueType support ... (remain about 60 seconds before appear the application.

I don't know if it may solve your problem, but a better way to in stall from source in Ubuntu, having the package in the source repository is to build a *.deb package and the install it, eg.:

1) apt-get -b sources texmacs
(the "-b" option instructs to build the source after downloading it).

If something goes wrong:
1b) apt-get build-dep texcmacs
(which you already did)
Then again:
1c) apt-get -b sources texmacs
If eveything goes well you can install the deb package(s):

2) dpkg -i *.deb

Resulta que tuve que reinstalar todo el sistema (linux ubuntu 10.04

22:22:09 UTC 2012 i686 GNU/Linux) y TeXmacs está corriendo terriblemente
lento. No se qué puede suceder. ¿Alguna sugerencia?



La versión de TeXmacs es 1.07.3-3; ¿puede estar relacionado que el
archivo es un libro (con aproximadamente 53 páginas)? Compilé con
apt-get sources texmacs, next: apt-get build-dep texcmacs, luego
encontré un folder llamado TeXmacs-1.07.3-src, una vez dentro, hice:
./configure, make, and make install. Todo como consecuencia de la lentitud.
