Hello,

I may have a few answers :

- Giac works well except for example
if i take the first "spreadsheet" menu, i see on the screen smething 
strange :
 
spreadsheet(spreadsheet(spreadsheet[[["","",2],["","",2],["","",2],["","",2],["","",2],["","",2],["","",2],["","",2],["","",2],["","",2]],[["","",2],["","",2],["","",2],["","",2],["","",2],["","",2],["","",2],["","",2],["","",2],["","",2]]]))
and the answer "Plot cancelled or unable to plot"

Be sure to have the last version of Xcas/giac and of the plugin attached and 
unzip it in your 
.TeXmacs/plugins folder. To use the giac spreadsheet you'll have to :
  1 - select Giac->Speadsheet->New Spreadsheet 2x10
  2 - an extension of xcas will open showing a modifiable spreadsheet. 
Just select OK to validate.
  3 - just after that select Giac->Speadsheet->Insert associated 
spreadsheet.

- professor says all the time "dvips: Could not find figure file 
proftmp.Tab.0; continuing."
and plots a black square
thought, professor called from LaTeX works since Guillaume Connan has 
helped me updating it.

On ubuntu, are you sure you installed the packages : texlive-fonts-extra 
texlive-metapost context texlive-latex-recommended ?
I just did a fresh install on ubuntu 12.10 and everything works fine for me.
