Clicking the "GNUplot" prompt in the gnuplot session causes the chart to vanish and retains the gnuplot commands.

That seems a bit backwards; in a gnuplot session, the command has no visible effect other than the graph, the only folding that makes sense in a gnuplot session is to hide the commands and show the graph.

But I don't see a way to do that.
