It is running: Ubuntu EGLIBC 2.15-0ubuntu10.3

In the meantime I have found a good workaround. I have installed a 
little outdated version 1.0.7.17 of TeXmacs from the launchpad.net by 
adding temporarily ppa:dns/gnu to my sources:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/dns/gnu/ubuntu precise main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/dns/gnu/ubuntu precise main

It worked flawlessly out of the box and TeXmacs rendered the 
bibliography as expected - in other words I could use BibTeX style in my 
document with no errors reported.

If you are still interested in resolving the issue reported in my 
previous message I will be more than happy to assist you in reproducing 
this error.
