The problem with the syncing of the menu between
To have Maxima 5.29 in Ubuntu 13.10, one simply needs to uninstall the
packages for 5.30, and use the .deb packages for the previous
versions. They can be found in http://packages.ubuntu.com/
For convenience, I put them in the following link:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jurrg8dskh07nzx/znncOtU5Dn
This can be useful while the plugin is updated.
The syncing problem due to an indicator-appmenu bug is stated in the link
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-appmenu/+bug/775561
though it seems to have very low priority there.
The bindings are strange, though that is fixed by selecting "gnome
bindings". I do not know why this happened.
In windows (xp via virtual machine) I noticed a strange behaviour in
math mode: alt-s should produce a square root, but it produces an
"s". If one clicks in the square root icon in the menu, then,
afterwards, alt-s does produce a square root.
Peace.
