Hi,

again these (cool!) features could be easily implemented and seem like a good exercise ;)

A couple of comments:

Is it possible to write the presentation first as document, and then change it to beamer format.
E.g. converting all (sub)sections into slides?

You'd want to write your document using the experimental style package "structured-section", since this would allow for easy extraction of the contents of each section.

Does the beamer format support headings higher than the level of the slide? E.g. a presentation can have its own title, then subsections, (subsubsections), then titles for each of the slides etc.

You can use the little wrench in the focus bar to edit the macro rendering the title of a slide. Here you can add more fields or whatever you need. Then you'd fill them with the titles of the (sub)sections you just retrieved.

Sorry, I don't have much time these days, but if you have any questions I'll be glad to help. If you are serious about implementing this stuff, let's open a task in the issue tracker at savannah.gnu.org

Best,
