Not my choice...
A couple of years ago Miguel devised the "developper menu" which I find
incredibly useful whenever I play with scheme code. Be sure to "rebuild the
autocompletion index" once at the beginning of your session, and then you'll
have all possible doc at your fingertip though the "symbol browser". For
instance for the two functions you were mentioning this would have eventually
lead you to the proper page in the manual. Far too many functions are simply
not documented anywhere, though. Also sometimes the documentation in the
manual wasn't kept in sync with changes made in the code (that why it's better
to document right in the code, I agree with you).
