Sorry everyone,

I found the (trivial) solution myself after sending the previous message. It
seems that it is enough to

1) change "look and feel" (to Windows, for example)

2) restart (maybe after logout from linux...)

I had tried some combinations of both, but somehow never got it working until
now.
