Hi Frank,

I'll look into this problem.

As a general rule, once again, LaTeX is inconsistent with itself.
Things that work with certain style files may fail to work with others;
there is no safe way to know except trying. It also happens that
a working solution breaks down after an "updated" version of
a style file by a publisher.

Of course, we mainly test with the default article style.
For other styles, please report potential problems.
Patches to fix them are even more welcome.
