but i find not practical as it is for the moment

because if by error you press enter before you have finished, the lines are executed

ok it does not scratch the computer… but…

you see, i could also use thonny or any python Ide and only use the console, pressing shift enter if i need a breakline

but everybody prefers typing the code not in the console but in the code « zone » of the ide, and when ready press « run » 

so, okay i am the fisrt to say TeXmacs is wonderful, sharing it, and showing the fantastic possibility of running code directely inside the text

but i find it would be really more practical if instead of « console » cells we would have « typing code » cells exactly like in quarto or jupyter

also, in quarto if ever i want to run a cell that depends of further cells (definitions in cells above for example) i can click on « run cells above » before running current cell

i use it all the time for R or for python and it si very convenient, but of course the math formulas editing are so basic and bugged that i would really appreciate to have « run cells above » in TeXmacs

in quarto i can also hide the contents / or / the result / of a cell

that’s not the only reason i use quarto with my students instead of TeXmacs (after havind tryed both) ; there are other reason (inserting pictures for example) but i stay in the thread

Again I do not understand. In Jupyter you have code cells, that you run, and text cells, that you use for comments and do not run. In TeXmacs it is the same. Let me give you my own example; please let me know what you mean if what I am showing is not what you want (I have not been able to guess either what you want).
