ok thanks Giovanni
so TeXmacs can be used as a juptyer/quarto notebook
now, what lacks is maybe the esthetic… :
we have these >>>
and this ugly message saying "Python 3.12.4 [/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/3.12/bin/python3]
Python plugin for TeXmacs.
Please see the documentation in Help -> Plugins -> Python »

but, efficiently speaking, it works good
i have tried also « evaluate above » : nickel
thanks for the tipps

-> one reflexion : learning by exchanging seems to me natural
this september in a colloque, discussing with two math teachers i have learnt some tipps with them for TeXmacs
i remember of Faro ~2013, it would be intereseting to have regular Faros, maybe in France, but dedicated to simple and naive users as i am

-> concerning the insertion of pictures now, i have with your help created a shortcut that inserts a picture with a correct standard size (5cm) inside a « Figure » environment
it would maybe not difficult for the developers, as you seem to say, to implement this inside native TeXmacs because for the moment, the « paste » possibility, which is good still to existe, pastes naturally with a too big width, empeching to manipulate esaily the size (if the picture is large)

but i find it would be really more practical if instead of « console » cells we would have « typing code » cells exactly like in quarto or jupyter

Right click for context menu -> Input options -> Multiline input

also, in quarto if ever i want to run a cell that depends of further cells (definitions in cells above for example) i can click on « run cells above » before running current cell

Right click for context menu -> Evaluate -> Evaluate above

(I did not check if when you split a session it evaluates the current "block" only or all of the previous ones too)

in quarto i can also hide the contents / or / the result / of a cell

I did not find out how to hide the contents; one can hide the result of all of the cells by folding/unfolding (context menu -> Session and look at the entries there). Maybe someone knows how to do this with some Scheme.

 (inserting pictures for example)

Inserting pictures might be a good discussion for the forum, and maybe the whole discussion on how to improve sessions; maybe just a little bit of work is sufficient to give them some more convenient properties and behaviours.
