Unfortunately I'm clueless. In my small hack there was everything I know
about
writing TeXmacs macros :-( Tonight (while watching TV) I'll try to improve
somehow my hack, but I don't think I will be able to do anything useful.
I didn't want to fight with style files. That was to reason I told you to
pasted it in the beginning of the document. I didn't test it with styles.

Sure. The hack I wrote used just a counter to number the figures. A second
counter and some conditionals had to be added to get 2.5, 7.3, etc.
I used the list-fig counter to add the number of Figure, but that number was
*independent* of the real figure number. I just though that the first figure
in the List of figures might be the figure number 1.
