I see. Thanks for those explanations. At least we have a workaround for this problem -- just focus the intended window before operaiton.

If there are multiple windows in editing status, closing the wrong one (focusing on the wrong one) may cause crash. Knowing the reaon of this problem is helpful~

The Qt side doesn't know the texmacs' internal id of the window and just sends a message to close the one with the focus. There are actually many instances of this problem, where actions are taken on the buffer/window with the focus, instead of one identified by its internal url/id. This needs fixing, yes. :(

I think the topmost window is closed, that last had focus.

Either texmacs isn't asking qt which window sent the close message, or qt can't tell it, and so it closes the top window.

if the window manager gave focus to the window whose close was clicked, it wouldn't matter....

Hi,

I find that TM always close the newest window instead of the one you click.

My env:

OS: OS X 10.8.4
TM: 1.0.7.19

For example, when you use "open xxx.tm" command to open a TM doc, there will be another window titled "No Name". Then you click the red cross icon to close it. It turns out your "xxx.tm" windows is closed. Click it once more, the "No Name" is closed. You can also try to "open xxx.tm", "open yyy.tm", sequentially. Click close for "xxx.tm" and you will find that "yyy.tm" is closed. This can repeated constantly on my side.

Does anyone have idea of the problem?

Thanks,
Pili
