Another update: I have compiled the latest TeXmacs (1.99) with Qt and the same problem appeares when editing an old texmacs file created by the old version of texmacs (1.0.7). Thank you for reading this. Any information about this problem is appreciated.

Further update: The Qt version has much longer delay than the version without Qt. And this delay only occurs when I try to enter or delete a new-paragraph-break in an old texmacs file created by the old version of texmacs (1.0.7).
My system is Debian 6.0.1 with guile-1.8 and qt4.

Thus the slow response is not related to the Qt.
When I create a complete new file by using the new version texmacs and edit it, the performance of texmacs is normal.
The slow problem seems to only appear when I edit a long (about 50 pages) texmacs file created by a old version of Texmacs (1.0.7).
Any information about this problem is very appreciated because I have many texmacs files created by the old version Texmacs.
If this problem can not be resolved, I can not switch to the new version of TeXmacs.

Hi all,

I have just compiled a Qt version of Texmacs-1.0.7.21 and found that TeXmacs is very slow to give a response when I type enter to start a new paragraph. Did anyone experience this?
This is my first time to use the Qt version of Texmacs. I'm wondering whether I have compiled TeXmacs correctly.
The slow response seems to only appear when I edit a texmacs file created by a old version of Texmacs (1.0.7). Is it possible that it is the mismathc between the texmacs file format that causes this problem.
Thank you.
