Hi Vincent,
based on the notebook you have sent in a separate email, the problem is that the math environment surrounding a=2 has been lost.
You can probably investigate the problem further by copying from TeXmacs and then pasting to a different target (e.g. TextEdit.app), and see whether the math environment has been properly retained or not.

hi

the problem disappear when i switch to another user
so i guess it must be something like bad preferences
however, i can not solve the problem on my own user

summary of what i have done :
- i have dropped to the trash the "plist" texmacs file that was in the ~/Preferences folder : the problem remains
i have closed TeXmacs then made mkdir ~/ici and mv ~/.TeXmacs ~/ici/.TeXmacs and then i have started TeXmacs again : the problem remains
- i have searched in some pref panel anything relative to copypasting, found nothing

summary of the pb [picture]
<inconnu.png>
- i run os X Mojave 10.14.6 (18G103)
- the pb occurs with TeXmacs from 1.99.7 to 1.99.12

thanks for any help

Vincent
