I suppose Joris would tag this message as offtopic, but I want to
answer to avoid giving the impression to other readers of the list we
are being simply unresponsive to this problem.
I'll propose a solution to this issue in my next mail, for now, let us
just focus on the Solaris problem. Joris had a lot of problems with
compilation of Solaris since the build system has changed. It looks
like he found a solution.
The 'static' Solaris builds includes a compiled libguile.so.4.0.0
(with expected symlinks) in the lib directory. However, it does not
include the usual texmacs script which would normally set
LD_LIBRARY_PATH. Instead, bin/texmacs is a symbolic link to
texmacs.bin.
So, the solution would be for you to set your LD_LIBRARY_PATH to
include $(prefix)/lib where texmacs installs libguile.so.4.
Follow-ups to this message should be sent to address@hidden.

TeXmacs is NOT a LaTeX front-end and is unrelated to emacs.
