then, I used pdflatex and I didn't like the result. I tried to convert a
postscript generated by Texmacs to pdf using pstoedit. The file was more
legible on screen than the generatd using ps2pdf. But it changed the
size of many letters and had problems with special characters as á, ó or ñ.

I have also the wish of generating nice looking pdf type1 documents from
original sources on TeXmacs. The way i used was exporting to LaTeX (from
the menu) and then used pdflatex as you. To get a document like I wanted
I had to make some changes manually, may be you can consider that
changes too:

The line break command changes on the LaTeX document (use "//" instead
of the generated LaTeX command by TeXmacs "/")

You need change all the eps or ps figures on the document for other
documents because pdflatec can't generate a proper pdf from a LaTeX
document containing eps/ps embedded figures. I changed the eps/ps for
png files (using gimp) and then I changed the reference for the eps
figure using the new png created figure. May be you'll need a
"\scalebox{}" argument in the LaTeX file applied to the figure to get a
figure with a nice look and displayed all inside the page (in my
document if didnt apply that argument most of figures were with some
part out of the page).

I still have problems trying to transport some other properties from
TeXmacs to the LaTeX file before pdflatex conversion specially with
tables, like background color of a cell or cell spanning. I'm also a
totally new to LaTeX so I have not clue about that and the beginer book
intro that I got about that doesnt have much info about tables.

Please if someone can help me about tables properties on LaTeX I would
really apreciate it.

Thanks,

Offray
