actually you don't need a windows manager like fvwm to use TeXmacs. Once
you have TeXmacs installed (see e.g. my recent mails about the new (but
still unofficial) cygwin package), it suffices to start TeXmacs by:

XWin -multiwindow -clipboard&
texmacs &
