hello. thanks for the responses to my queries.
i was wondering if there is some elementary article on how counters are manipulated and how they are displayed. (this is in relation to one of my questions.) latex has a multi-purpose list environment and it is pretty flexible -- one can number lists like i.), ii.), ... or [a], [b], [c],... etc.
i would also like to tweak the default amount of space that the program adds between two factors in a product. i personally feel that the space should be a bit smaller and should definitely not be 'stretchable'. any hints?
