I was almost driven crazy by your same error. It happened to me after
installing the last release of Texmacs available via CVS. I removed it and
reinstalled 1.0.3, but still got that error. I figured out that it was an
error of Ghostscript, so reinstalled Ghostscript. Nothing. I opened a
document I saved yesterday, and TeXmacs exported it as pdf without errors.
I do not have an explanation, but I think you should try first with some
other document and see if you still get the error.
