I noticed a strange behaviour. I have a master document that includes some
chapters from a book I'm trying to write. Inside the chapters I use labels
and references, and everything works fine. If I add at the end of the master
document a bibliography, everything still works. But after having added an
index to the master documents and having updated everything (from
Document -> Update -> All) suddenly my references turn from numbers into
"*". Every chapter and the master documents are based on the book style.

Where am I going wrong?
