This "feature" is as old as the translation mechanism in TeXmacs. I told Joris that this is not acceptable many times. The answer always was that he wants to implement a completely new and far better translation mechanism, and until that (indefinite) moment he does not want to fix the obvious bug in the existing mechanism.
Today I found a bug (or maybe it's a feature?). I have a file called 'test.tm'. If I use TeXmacs in English, there is no problem. But if I use it in Spanish, when I click on the menu entry 'Go', I get 'probar.tm' instead of 'test.tm' in the list of opened files. For your information, 'probar' is the Spanish translation of 'test'. The bug should be quite easy to reproduce. The bug report is a more formal way, but it is still
useful, if you have a sufficient amount of time available,
especially for motivating people (like Joris, for
example :-) who perhaps rely more on it than on
the content of the mailing list.
