This could then be called a bug in TeXmacs, too, namely in its install 
phase: The INSTALL target in its Makefile.in has the line

    $(RM) -r $(DESTDIR)$(tmdata)/plugins/*/src

which removes from the installation the whole directory containing the 
file in question.
