Dear Ingolf,No, it is not a problem of your computer, but a bug in the applescript. I will fix this today.
Sorry for my late reply. You work is extremely interesting,
but I needed some time to test it.

For optimal use an installed version of teTeX is recommended.
It works for me, except that it uses the wrong freetype library
(so no fonts are visible). It is possible that this is a specific problem
of my computer though.
I think they are from Martin Costable. See hereImportant differences to other platforms:

3.) Some plugins (R, shell) do not work, because I am waiting for the main
TeXmacs tree to incorporate the necessary patches.
Which patches?
http://fink.cvs.sourceforge.net/fink/dists/10.4/unstable/main/finkinfo/editors/texmacs.info?revision=1.5&view=markup
At least you should consider the patch for intel macs for the main tree.
There will be no other version supported than Panther. The linker of Jaguar is a mess.4.) An log of the output of TeXmacs can be found in
/Users/username/Library/TeXmacs/run.log
I don't see such a file.
Things, I am not happy with:
0.) I want to support older versions of Mac OS X, but I have no platform
for testing.
If someone has such a system and is willing to test, that would be great.
In principle this version should run on Mac OS X 10.3.9 aka Panther.
No, I do not think so. Or to be more precise one just has to adjust some scheme code butThings, I would like to include:
1.) Semi automatic import of ttf fonts, i.e. automatic generation of
menu etc. (The menu is already there but does not do anything right now).
I fear that one has to hack the TeXmacs sources for this one.
nothing in the C++ part.
My real problem is how to deal with this fonts and how to incoporate
fondu into the applescript in a better way, than OpenOffice does.
(OpenOffice simply converts every font and copies it into the app-package)
My idea was that the user could choose which fonts to convert for the use with texmacs from some dialog.
Yes, this true. My idea was that basic command line tasks like printing or converting could be done without2.) The "Convert" and the "Print" menu do nothing yet.
Notice also that the TeXmacs Starter menu disappears as soon as X is launched
on my system (it gets replaced by X).
opening X11 by just clicking some file requesters in the aqua enviroment.
Unfortunately, I was too busy to work on this the last months. BTW, I think it is incredible that you have time3.) Spotlight plugin
That would be nice indeed.
for TeXmacs besides your mathematical projects and your family. Are you sure, that you are only one person ;-)
Best wishes and again some thanks for the development of TeXmacs,
Ingolf
