I run TeXmacs 1.0.6.6 on Ubuntu 6.10 and compiled from source. Requires have guile and guile-dev installed which are in the repositories. Also, make sure netpbm is installed-these are a variety of graphic utilities for handling images within docs (not necessary for compilation). Works like a charm.

Hello,

A couple of months ago I started using Kubuntu instead of SUSE. Although the change was good, there is one thing I miss. In the Ubuntu repositories there is only the stable version of TeXmacs (1.0.6). When I was using SUSE I used to download and install the latest unstable RPM. Usually there were no problems and, frankly, the time between stable versions in TeXmacs is quite long and the number of improvements in unstable versions is huge.

Here is my question to the (K)Ubuntu users of the list, which is the best way to install the unstable releases?

TIA,

Javier
