I run TeXmacs 1.0.6.6 on Ubuntu 6.10 and compiled from source. Requires 
have guile and guile-dev installed which are in the repositories. Also, 
make sure netpbm is installed-these are a variety of graphic utilities 
for handling images within docs (not necessary for compilation). Works 
like a charm.
