After a digression to help our lab support folks with some software
upgades, I am trying to switch back to document editing with TeXmacs,
and am having one seryous problem I can't seem to solve. There is some
chance that I have simply not configured something right, or that I
have just managed to confuse myself. However, I really need to fix
this problem and am thus appealing for help with that caveat (and I've
done some google seaches and can't find this question already answered
somewhere).

Anyway, the problem is this: When I select "book style", the "Part"
submenu within "Document" disappears. This can be demonstrated by
starting texmacs with no parameter (to create a new document),
clicking on "Document" to see that "Part" is there, then clicking on
the style icon (that looks like a book) and selecting "book", and then
clicking on "Document" again -- "Part" is _no_longer_listed_.

This is occurring in the aftermath of our upgrade to a new version of
Ubuntu, running on our same Intel-based hardware. I believe the new
version of Ubuntu includes TeXmacs 1.0.6.10, according to the package
manager (texmacs --version just says "1.0.6", but it has features I
used to have to get from the CVS repository).

This is a serious problem for me, since I have about 80 pages of
course notes in a texmacs document that's in "book" style and divided
into parts, and when I try to edit it, all I can see is the first
chapter. I was hoping to make some revisions this afternoon, and then
send it off to lulu.com to get it printed in time for the bookstore to
stock it for classes this fall, which basically means I need to do
this this week (preferably today). So any fast help would be much
appreciated!
