Thank you, yes ;^) Unfortunately, I had to get up things working
quite quickly, so after a few unsuccessful attempts to get source
distribution working, I followed the recommendation of Massimiliano
Gubinelli to try darwinports.

In fact, even if there is no binary installer, it might be nice to
have a simple installer for the source distribution (instead of
downloading the tarball and following non-standard instructions).
This is actually what darwinports proposes: just a few clicks,
and one is able to use the command 'port' for all operations,
similar to 'fink'.

But I will retry installing fink sometime soon.
I first wait a while to see whether the installer problem
for Leopard will be solved officially.
